Lars Remodeling & Design was featured on the cover of the March edition of San Diego Home/Garden Magazine. The remodel featured on the homepage was the kitchen of the C. Arnholdt Smith house on San Juan Road in San Diego. This historic landmark, a part of the San Diego landscape since it was originally built in the 1930s, has been transformed a few times to match current trends. From a renovation in 1950’s that included an addition and brick garden to an 1980’s renovation that placed a stucco first-floor façade over the existing brick, to the latest home remodel led by Lars Remodeling & Design.
The remodeled kitchen “Refined revival in Mission Hills” was a challenge for the Lars team as they tried to incorporate modern appliances without changing the home’s originality and vintage style. Lars added updated conveniences to make living in the home comfortable, while keeping the historic charm of the home. The kitchen featured on the cover features wood flooring, modern cabinetry, and new counter tops to match the breakfast bar in the center.
