Bathroom safety — particularly grab bars and a zero-threshold shower — is the highest priority for most homeowners because the bathroom is where the majority of home falls occur. A first-floor primary suite addition is a 6 to 12 month project including design, permitting, and construction. An ADU is typically 12 to 18 months from design start to move-in.
